About Us

Sinai Court No. 35 is an auxiliary to the Imperial Court, which is made of female family members of Prince Hall Shriners. The Imperial Court was formally organized at the annual session of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, held in Detroit, Michigan, on August 24, 1910. The Imperial Court today is 107 years old.

Sinai Court No. 35 was Chartered in 1918(eight years after the establishment of the Imperial Court) and was then REVISED on August 23, 1946. Sinai Court No. 35 turned 100 years in 2018. 

Per the history that we are able to find of some of the members of Sinai Court No. 35 we know that Sarah Haddex, Mayme Williams, Dt. Tolles, Willie J. Britton and Mary Smith were all members of Sinai Court No. 35. and served as Illustrious Commandresses prior to 1940.

Sinai Court has had 6 Honorary Past Commandresses, Dt Audrey Pryor 1986, Dt Wanda Nolan 1991, Dt Sarah Peaks 1991, Dt Imogene House 2000, and Dt. Peggy Edwards 2002, and Latasha Carson-Joiner 2019. Sinai Court No. 35 has had six members to have the title of Honor of Honorary Past Imperial Commandress bestowed on them. Those Daughters are Dt. Minnie Jackson 1982, Dt. Pauline Harris 1990, Dt. Leatia Woods 1991 Dt. Eleanor Mason 1991, Dt. Audrey Pryor 1992, Dt. Jeannie Elam 2010 and Dt. Mona Dickson 2011.

Sinai Court has had 3 Past Imperial Deputies for the Desert. Those Daughters were Dt. Sally Berry from 1964-1966, Dt. Minnie Jackson 1977-1981 and Dt. M. Darlene Harrison from 1997-2001. Sinai Court has had the HONOR and Pleasure of having two actual Imperial Commandress . Those Daughters were Past Imperial Commandress Dt. Willie J. Britton 1939-1942 and Dt. Jewel R. Lang 1989 to 1991.

Prior to her death Deputy Imperial Commandress Dt. Sally Berry was next in line to be the Imperial Commandress but died before being elected to office, Dt. Sally Berry legacy however still lives on and is still an intricate part of the Imperial Court. The Sally Berry Fashion Show that is held every Tuesday at Imperial Session is named after our very own, Dt. Sally Berry, and the event sales out every year!

Current Imperial Officers of Sinai Court No. 35 are, Imperial Deputy for the Oasis Dt. Brenda Winstead PC, Imperial Deputy for Credentials and Badges Dt. Jewel Patterson PC, Imperial Deputy for ICEDD Dt. Cheryl Robinson PC, Imperial Directress of Chantresses- Dt. Jeanie Elam HPIC, Imperial Deputy for Chantresses- Dt. Tanya Elam-Lee PC, Imperial Marshal Supporter- Dt. Robin Bennett PC, Imperial Youth Deputy Directress- Nannette Murray, and Imperial Deputy Directress Health Education- Dt. Sharon Coleman.

Sinai Court No. 35 also had the pleasure of hosting Imperial Session 3 times. Sinai Court continues to grow in membership and currently has a role of forty-eight members. Our Military, Chantresses and Clown Unit are regularly active in the community and available during charitable events. Our AEAONMS approved Website and Facebook page is a welcome added addition to our Court, highlighting the activities of Sinai Court No. 35 and sharing information as we travel through the domain.
